Welcome to Fairwinds - a Victoria Sailing Co-op!
Fairwinds is a sailing Association based in Victoria, British Columbia on the Canadian Pacific Coast. The Association is registered under the Societies Act of British Columbia and is operated by its members as a co-operative venture.
We were founded in 1974 and have been running ever since - testimony to the Association's success!
Our Boats
Fairwinds currently maintains two sailboats for experienced sailors to cruise the waters of the Gulf and San Juan Islands. Both boats are moored at the Sidney North Saanich Marina:
- A Pearson 33 (Jolie)
- A C&C 27 (Massilia)
Both boats are well maintained, perform well, have diesel engines, nav/comm electronics, holding tanks, dodgers, and many amenities for cruising. We also have a pair of dinghies (Walker Bay and a Rigid Inflatable) with small, lightweight outboards.
Our Members
We have members from all walks of life. Common to all is a passion for sailing and a willingness to share knowledge, experience, skills, and labor for the benefit of all. We are always interested in new members who share our interests and goals.
Some of the Benefits
- A great bunch of people!
- Shared knowledge, experience, and cost
- Affordable day sailing and weekly cruising with reasonable annual fees
- Limited membership which gives members good access to both boats
- Maintenance shared by the members
A web-based reservation system is used to keep track of boat availability, bookings and member accounts.
